Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information AuthorOps processes, why we process it, and the choices you have when using authorops.app.
Last updated: September 30, 20261. Scope
This policy applies to AuthorOps, the publishing-operations workspace available at authorops.app, including account, book, file-management, metadata, launch, ARC, review, promotion, notification and related features.
2. Information we collect
Account information
We may process your name, email address, profile photo, account role, email-verification status and authentication information. Passwords are stored as password hashes, not as readable passwords.
Publishing workspace information
AuthorOps stores information you enter about books, pen names, series, editions, ISBN/ASIN identifiers, metadata, descriptions, keywords, pricing, tasks, notes, contacts, ARC readers, reviews, promotions, notifications and messages you send to our team.
Files and Google Drive
If you connect Google Drive, AuthorOps stores identifiers and metadata needed to organize files and may process file content when you explicitly upload, open, preview or otherwise use a file through the service. Your original connected files remain in your Google Drive unless you choose an action that moves a file to Drive Trash.
Technical information
Our server and infrastructure may record IP address, browser or device information, request timestamps, security events and error logs needed to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service. For newly registered accounts we store the registration IP address and an approximate country inferred from it. We also store the IP address, approximate country and time of the latest sign-in. Administrators can view these account security details. A country inferred from an IP address may be inaccurate.
3. Google account and Drive data
You may use Google to sign in and may connect a separate Google Drive account. AuthorOps can receive basic account information such as your Google account identifier, name, email address and profile image. Drive access is used to support the files and folders you choose to manage through AuthorOps.
OAuth credentials required to maintain a Drive connection are stored in encrypted form. Disconnecting Drive stops AuthorOps from using that saved connection. Removing AuthorOps access in your Google Account is another way to revoke access.
4. How we use information
- Provide and maintain your AuthorOps account and workspace.
- Organize books, files, versions, metadata, publishing stages and launch activity.
- Authenticate users, protect accounts and prevent abuse.
- Send transactional emails such as email-verification and password-reset messages.
- Display reminders and notifications requested by product functionality.
- Diagnose failures, improve reliability and support users.
AuthorOps does not sell your personal information or your publishing content to advertisers.
5. Service providers and third parties
AuthorOps relies on third-party infrastructure and services where necessary to operate the product. These may include Google for sign-in and Google Drive connectivity, Resend for transactional email delivery, Paddle for subscription checkout, billing and payment events, and hosting/infrastructure providers used to run authorops.app. Each provider processes information under its own terms and privacy practices.
6. Cookies, sessions, referrals and first-party analytics
AuthorOps uses essential session technology to keep you signed in and protect authenticated areas of the service. If you arrive through an approved affiliate link, AuthorOps may store a signed, HttpOnly referral cookie for up to 90 days so a later account registration can be attributed to that affiliate. Referral attribution is used for partner commissions and fraud prevention, not advertising profiling.
We also use limited first-party product analytics to understand page usage, device class and product adoption. This telemetry does not use advertising cookies, does not create advertising profiles and does not store raw IP addresses for analytics. Rate limiting uses one-way request fingerprints to help prevent abuse.
7. Billing and payment information
Paid AuthorOps subscriptions use Paddle checkout and billing tools. AuthorOps stores Paddle customer, subscription, price and transaction identifiers, subscription status and limited payment information needed to provide Pro access, reconcile affiliate commissions, handle refunds and support customers. Full payment-card numbers are not stored by AuthorOps.
8. Retention and deletion
We keep account and workspace information while your account is active or as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain security, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. When you delete your AuthorOps account, AuthorOps account data is scheduled for deletion from the active database subject to technical and legal retention requirements. Temporary copies may remain in backups for a limited period.
Deleting your AuthorOps account does not automatically delete files that remain in your own Google Drive.
9. Security
We use measures such as HTTPS, password hashing, encrypted storage for sensitive OAuth credentials and access controls intended to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so you should also protect your account credentials and connected Google account.
10. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or receive a copy of certain personal information. Many account details can be edited directly in AuthorOps Settings. You may also disconnect Google Drive or delete your AuthorOps account from Settings.
For a privacy request that cannot be completed in the product, contact support@authorops.app.
11. Children
AuthorOps is intended for publishing professionals and independent authors and is not directed to children under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact us.
12. International processing
AuthorOps and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we use the protections available through our providers and applicable law.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as AuthorOps changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date on this page and, when appropriate, by providing an additional notice in the service.
